Unique Combat System

This isn't just XCOM on Mars. Six mechanics make combat unlike anything you've played.

🎯

360° Aim System

Shoot at anything in line of sight — ceilings, walls, the floor. Blow holes through cover or collapse structures on enemies.

🔫

Suppression Steals AP

Missed shots still matter. Taking fire reduces enemy action points. Stack fire from multiple units to freeze a target completely.

💣

Real-Time Equipment Sharing

Toss unprimed grenades and spare magazines to squadmates mid-fight. A pinned sniper gets ammo without breaking cover.

🔧

Gun Grid Editor

Customize every weapon part — calibers, scopes, stocks — on a grid. Each gun has unique slot shapes. Find the perfect layout.

🧬

Dynamic Traits

No fixed classes. Kill 3 enemies with one shot? Earn "Penetrator." Save a downed squadmate? Discover medical talent.

🤖

Cybernetic Upgrades

Wounded veterans aren't out — they're candidates. Augment them into cyborg super-soldiers stronger than before.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does Mars Tactics release?

Late 2026 on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Originally planned for May 2026 — delayed for polishing based on playtester feedback from the closed beta.

Is it single-player or multiplayer?

Primarily single-player with a full campaign for each faction. Each campaign offers 40+ hours of gameplay. No multiplayer confirmed yet, but the developer has mentioned it as a post-launch possibility.

Who is making it?

Takibi Games (developer), published by Hooded Horse — the same publisher behind Manor Lords and Against the Storm. Takibi is known for deep simulation systems and emergent gameplay.

How different are the two factions?

Completely different — separate tech trees, units, weapons, economic models, and victory conditions. It's almost two games in one. Capital plays like a traditional XCOM campaign with superior resources; Labor plays like an insurgency simulator.

Is it like XCOM?

Yes — turn-based tactical combat on a grid with full destructibility. But Mars Tactics adds a grand strategy layer on top: base building, supply chains, railway networks, diplomacy, prisoner interrogation, and emergent economics that simulate a living Martian economy.

What platforms will it be on?

Confirmed for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store). Console versions have not been announced but are under consideration according to developer interviews.
